This was my first trip to Alaska, and I’ve wanted to go back every summer since then. Amy and I joined Wayde Carroll and a few other Lightminded Tour participants at the remote Silver Salmon Creek Lodge. The lodge is located within Lake Clark National Park & Preserve, accessible only by boat and seaplane.

I was nervous about getting into a plane that had actual bungee cords on the wings that appeared to have a function of some kind. But the de Havilland Beaver was more than airworthy and I ended up truly enjoying the flight.
